RWG Needs Your Support - upgrade to a VIP/Supporter membership! If you find your time here to be useful and (we hope) entertaining, we encourage you to become a VIP/Supporter member. This only costs £21 (a little under $30 USD dependent on exchange rates) per annum and all proceeds go towards our hosting costs and making RWG the best watch board around. By becoming a supporter you will also gain a number of benefits including: 1. If you subscribe during one of our VIP upgrade competitions (announced above the shoutybox on the board index page and also found in our competitions subforum), then you could win a nice watch (usually a high-quality rep). We run these competitions approximately monthly, so keep your eyes open for the next one. You will also get access to our free birthday VIP giveaways - you could win a strap, watch tools or even a watch (there have been some amazing prizes including gen Longines, Raymond Weil, Hamilton and Victorinox watches, along with various high-end reps!) 2. Early access to the Member Sales area (see the sales area for rules) and the ability to bump your sale to the top of the board periodically. 3. Access to the supporters-only section of the board. 4. Increased PM storage 5. The ability to change your displayed user name (once in a 90-day period). 6. Occasional discounts from some of our dealers (keep an eye on their subforums for special offers). PLEASE PM Greg_r to upgrade to VIP

  1. Is There A Sterile AP Royal Oak?

Not totally sterile but I believe Bulova used to do one and it was said that AP copied them as the Bulova watch was about 20-30 years ago.
  2. GOING TO BASELWORLD

Nice one.I would be like a kid in a sweet shop.
  3. Suggestions on a omega ploprof?

    +1 to the above.
  4. Seiko ananta manufacturing video

    Great Video, love that sweep!
  5. My gen Raymond Weil Freelancer.

I love Raymond Weil watches, I have 10 from the Amadeus to the Nubucco including the Rivoluzione.
  6. Great video, love the work these guys do.
  7. Rolex service costs

I had my Bi Metal Sub serviced at an authorised dealer for £495 which included new crystal and bezel insert, after I purchased it from a friend in really piss poor condition. Best money I spent as it put nearly £2000 on the value when I got it back. Didn't think it was the same watch when I picked it up it was that good. Don't look like theres a lot wrong with yours though.
  8. I just love everything about this watch. Thanks for the Vid.
  9. Cartier Santos dial printing question?

I have actually got 2 of these (one Chrono) and cant say that I have noticed, but I think the raised print looks better.
  10. When is too many watches too many?

I have over 100! About 30 Rep cheapies, 40 High Beats including 10 Swiss ETA's and the rest are gens from a Seiko to Rolex Bi Metal Sub (which is not my favourite by the way) Just bought another 2 this week, 1 Rep 1 Gen. But I will have to stop! Its getting silly now.
  11. Customs Duties from USA to UK

Cheers guys, as Greg said sometimes I have got away with it but last time I thought I got a bargain from ebay and then had to hand over an extra £200+ before I could pick the watch up!! I guess the saying is true, only 2 things in life are guaranteed Death and Taxes.
  12. Hi Guys, can anyone tell me how to get around the expensive duty we have to pay in the UK for goods coming from the other side of the pond? I am after a gen watch from a private seller for around $500, is it just a matter of the shipper saying its only worth $xxx's and I take the risk that it does not get opened and pay the smaller amount of tax and what happens if it does get opened? Is it worth getting the shipper to say its a gift? I also want to make sure that its insured via USPS for the full amount. What do you think I should do. Thanks in advance
  13. Hi guys, I know this question has been asked before but is there any factory's out there that will rep this watch with an A7750 movement anytime soon? I have heard other members saying its a problem with the dial spacing for the chronos but the 24 Concept looks to be pretty close to whats required and anyway, I don't think it wouldn't have to be exact for them to sell a shed load and I even think they might not even be able to keep up with demand cause just about everyone would want one to add to their collection. Just my opinion, what do you think?
