Arj 1 Posted August 6, 2015 ...You merely look after it for your douchebag son" Basic article but that line killed me! http://uk.businessin...015-8?r=US&IR=T

Jooost 0 Posted August 6, 2015 The line that killed me is: "Apple Watch, STFU" Great article, although he isn't really saying anything good about any of the brands... Still weird to see how some people see watches, merely a status symbol and nothing else.
parisianshut 0 Posted August 6, 2015 Funny as hell! I love the yatchmaster speech! "I have one of those, I keep it on my yatch" Ahahahahha! Can't wait to see my cousin who has one (yatchmaster not a yatch)
repvar 1 Posted August 6, 2015 to be honest I don't really get Pateks, I mean sure they have the attention to detail, but they don't really look special enough for the price range they are in. By comparison APs that also sell in that range are much more obvious about being a super expensive watch. And I'm not really biased, since I do own a v3 SW200 Nautilius(just because everyone needs a Patek in their collection and that one is one of the super-reps for that brand) and sure it's nice, but it just doesn't give me the tingles like APs do. greg_r 81 Posted August 6, 2015 I'm the other way. APs are fine, but they don't really float my boat (I've had a couple and sold 'em)....

GenTLe 1,501 Posted August 7, 2015 Moral of that story: Don't go to bars at fuckin' 3am. Ever. Or at least leave your watch home!

BentleySharp 0 Posted August 7, 2015 How many times has this guy been mugged for his watch at 3am coming out of a bar! In this article alone he lost his first Datejust being mugged leaving a bar in London at 3am, and then later on in life lost a Nautilus while mugged in Hong Kong outside a bar at 3am. I think this author is doing something wrong in life.
Daywatch 4 Posted August 7, 2015 Could not yet open the article, will try later. From what I get the title should read "You own a Patek until it gets mugged...." Unless You are an English Lord with a castle and do have the family and staff at home 24/7, while driving the Bentley and the Jag, the real life probabibility of it happening is very high. Than You can tell the son: "I once owned a Patek...." and advise him to better spend less money on a rep to be mugged.
Left Coast Guy 24 Posted August 7, 2015 Haha, a guy I used to work with sent this to me because its almost verbatim my take on Rolex and the 3-series -- it was like clockwork after the first bonus season that the analysts start showing up with their Rolex Sub and 3-series like sheep....though sadly I did the same thing with the Rolex when I was that age... I think he missed the boat on Panerai though, its kind of viewed as a new money, alternative brand -- like a little "fuck you" to the status quo, "I can afford a Rolex, but I'm not a sheep". Its started to get a little stale from maybe 3 year ago when I was seeing them everywhere, but still a thing in the new money crowd. Maybe not far off on the bragging part.... Two interesting trends lately: -- Among the younger guys, the all gold Rolex is really coming back strong. I've seen a bunch of day dates, and probably most popular the black and gold GMT Master II -- I'd never seen APs in the wild (other than rappers and Floyd Mayweather), but have started to see the plain Royal Oak auto on bracelet as the new "it" dress watch
