If you ever wondered why luxury Swiss watches cost so much money, watch this video.

Every part is either hand machined, or places into the machine by hand with tweezers, the tolerances for the moving parts are adjusted down to the ten-thousandth (thats.0000) in some cases, every piece is filed and meticulously polished to perfection by hand, all the decoration on the rotor, bridges, and movement are etched with a drill by hand, or for the case in this particular model, etched freehand, etc etc etc.

Amazing.

Simply amazing.

Does that justify a $100,000+ price point? (In this case over $1m) Probably not. The prices are artificially inflated to generate luxury appeal for the brands, but this gives me a lot of respect for the rep makers, doing all this in sub-par conditions (and also probably with out the fine tuning torque drills and fancy equipment, clean working conditions, proper protective gear, qualified workers, etc... ) and for fractions of the cost without the artificial markup to generate interest and "luxury appeal".

An insane amount of work, design skills, and number of steps to assemble..... and totally fascinating to watch and appreciate.

Thank god there's a handful of people rich enough to buy these and justify making them. Otherwise, very talented people would need to look at other ways to earn a living.

Wow! Really amazing to watch that! Couldn't help but wonder if there is a junk pile of cases when the engraver slips and ruins one?
