Daffy 105 Posted October 30, 2015 http://www.nzherald....jectid=11537660 A luxury $14,000 watch found hanging in a tree in Cromwell has baffled police. The Tag Heuer Monaco watch was found by a family who had seen a magpie flying from the tree. They noticed something metal was left behind and, as they got closer, they saw it was a watch hanging in the tree. The family took the expensive Swiss timepiece - with a price of around $13,000 to $15,000 - to Cromwell police station, where they shared their unusual tale. Police said it was unknown how the watch had made it into the tree. "However police can't help but wonder if the magpie had anything to do with the unusual find or if the family have stumbled across the one tree that does grow cash." Anyone who is missing, or knows someone who is missing, a watch like the one pictured can contact the Cromwell police station on 03 445 1999.

I know to you guys meteorite dials are a big joke, but several expensive swiss brands use meteorite dials in limited quantities at a high cost, and they actually look quite nice (not to mention every dial is unique) in person

charlesanderika 30 Posted October 30, 2015 yeah - saw that in our local paper - and was trying to think of a way of claiming it as mine ! NZ dollars are about 0.6 of a US dollar, hence the seemingly high price, I guess. Plus most people over here wouldn't have a clue as to what any watch is worth except perhaps for a Rolex. Takken 0 Posted October 30, 2015 Only reason a watch should cost 14000$ or more should be the value of gold used to make it.

I try selling a watch with a meteorite dial at a cheap price for the movement it has in it, and i never hear the end of it from you guys Also 60% of 15,000 is still $9000 still way too much for any Tag Edited October 30, 2015 by ImNotFatImFluffy

millionaire wannabe 1 Posted October 30, 2015 I actually like meteorite dials, but have yet to find the perfect meteorite dial watch that I like. I think if there was a meteorite PAM or FM, or maybe a DSSD, that would be cool. I'd buy the reps, as long as it was genuine meteorite. Never seen that JLC meteorite, that's pretty nice. I'm guessing it's about $30,000-50,000 at least?

Oh, and it's not the meteorite dial that's the joke, it's you. I am getting very close to deciding that you are indeed a troll and you don't want that trust me. I actually see them on several legit looking gen watch sites just under $10,000 (retail somewhere around $13,000) And why is debating a Tag being worth $9000 bad? millionaire wannabe 1 Posted October 30, 2015 That must be used, for a full calendar complications w/moon phase, that's an unheard of deal for any JLC, pretty sure. Even used, that's surprising!
