watch for my 21st

Recommended Posts

Olliewatts

Hey guys,

I've been a member for a while and got a watch from here for my 18th. Anyway it is now my 21st soon and I'm looking for a new watch. I like classy looking watches that go well with a suit. any suggestions?

Thanks,

Personally I would go for a gen watch if you are buying something to mark a special occasion like that... You can always add reps to your collection but if you are loooking for something you will keep forever then a decent gen is the way to go, either new or a decent condition preowned

I'd make a recommendation, but you need a watch that you can carry that looks within your means. Sure, a Patek Calatrava 5227 is the bees knees, I own a rep. But I'm careful where I wear it because it's rare that it looks like I can roll with a $40,000 watch.

IWC portofino is a good look. If you're of normal means then maybe stay away from the gold version (the genuine costs upwards of $10,000). You know what I really like for a dress genuine that can go with a suit for a 21 year old? I like the Longines Master Collection. Its got that simple dress watch look, striking blue hands, and that guilloche dial. Replace the leather band it comes on with real leather for a little more and you have a real prize.

Toro has this one right now. But I much prefer the date at 3 and the leather band rather than stainless steel bracelet:

If you don't mind a little thicker watch, then there are some nice Breguet replicas with amazing dials as well.

Maybe you would rather go with a lower cost genuine watch like Hamilton.

Think about their Thin-o-matic auto, Intra-matic auto, or Slim auto
