Winny 0 Posted July 1, 2016 Hello I have a question: when a factory tells a TD that the estimated delevry time for a specific watch is 2 to 3 weeks, does this mean they don't have the watch in stock and they will built it during that time? And if so, can this be an indication (good or bad) of the quakity of the watch? Thank you and happy Canada Day.
Del 4,459 Posted July 1, 2016 No, it means they haven't got a clue how long it will be! Really.
Winny 0 Posted July 1, 2016 No, it means they haven't got a clue how long it will be! Really. Shit. Should I also be worried about the quality I will get in this case?
Del 4,459 Posted July 1, 2016 What has quality got to do with availability? I don't understand your concern. You think they're going to rush through one watch just for you? They'll be making hundreds of them and your TD will be one of many dealers waiting for stock to become available. The TDs don't run the factories...

Oh it is easy, the TD told me this and now I realize that the estimated delevery time from the factory he gave means shit, and I may have to wait much longer. Tonystokes93 0 Posted July 1, 2016 What are you on about mate? If he says 2-3 weeks I highly doubt it will be any longer.
Del 4,459 Posted July 1, 2016 Well, wait the 2-3 weeks and if it's still not available then you could ask for a refund, or choose something else. The timescales might be right but experience says that timescales quoted by the factories are generally not very reliable, although to be fair to the TD - he can only tell you what he is being told himself... Thank you Del for your input. Curious - what watch are you waiting for? Longines Master moonphase and Heritage BBB. Nothing fancy but both out of stock in many places. Since the watches are out of stock with most of the TDs, it might mean that the parts for the watch will take a week or two to obtain. It's not that hard to assemble a watch with the factory's experience, will take a few hours.
narikaa 129 Posted July 2, 2016 Its a noise coming out of a Chinaman's mouth in Guanghou Ladbrooks will give short odds on it being lie laden But the watch will likely be quakity quak for you ..............can this be an indication (good or bad) of the quakity of the watch?
