A new hobby - feedback appreciated

Hi everyone,

After getting a couple reps and starting a modest collection I thought I'd try my hand at strap making.

I started with digging through the scrap bin at the local leather merchant but quickly became frustrated, so I took the plunge and bought a veg tanned calf hide.

Next I bought a couple color dyes, some treatment and experimented with creating effects and color depth. Thankfully the calf makes it much easier than I thought it was going to be.

Anyway, I've screwed up plenty and now I'm fairly happy with the straps. I'm definitely no Gunny or Nero but that's OK too...

These are some of my straps, your feedback would be appreciated.

No doubt you have done better than i could! As phoenix has suggested you will get better and better with each strap you make.

What are you using to sew the strap together?

I've got some Tandy waxed thread, needles, palm and a punch...
