Your thoughts on Porsche design as a brand

Recommended Posts

I've a fair wishlist for 2017, been looking at some PD gens and really like them, yes I know the consensus is if you like it, buy it and believe me I probably will, just looking for some input on what you guys think of PD as a brand?

Cheers

Tom

I like the kitchen knives they once designed for Chroma. Their watches, not so much...

Some are horrendous I give you that! I'm looking at the p6000 flat six as an *affordable gen* option

I would love to own the 'Flat 6' as well...but it would be shaped like a car and air-cooled...;)

Quite like the world timer, but not a Porsche fan so I'm out. Lol

I believe Eterna builds many of them. Unfortunately some look like 70's watches and the others look like Invictas.

I just think they are pretty decent! TKOs thread got me into them, missed out on one on the bay at the weekend, can't justify spending 600 on one when the Nomos I want is 780, my search continues!

I like some of their designs but some are just strange... Like the $65 stainless eraser sleeve/holder that was available a couple years ago

There's a store a couple of blocks down here that sells Porsche Design tobacco pipes, think that pretty much sums up the brand for my taste. Overdesigned and unnecessary.

I love my flat six. It has impeccable specs and oozes quality. It is beautifully designed; especially the carbon fibre dial that seems to change its pattern as the light reflects off it from different angles - I have not seen this on any other watch dial. An understated classy timepiece - now if I could only afford to buy one of their cars to go with my watch...

the earlier-generation Porsche Design watches were incredible.

(they were basically Sinn watches btw.)

Not a fan at all. In fact, not a fan of any of the watches with car brand names.

I would be more inclined to own one if I owned a Porche...

If you can get a good discount why not, flat 6 is a nice watch- good rep also.

That's exactly what I'm trying to find, a good discount on a flat 6, willing to pay about 500, some good deals on jomashop but I know the customs man will catch up with me
