dave47 6,416 Posted February 1, 2017 For Tuesday, this antique watch of mine, purchased almost fifty (50) years ago at the BX (Base Exchange) at Clark Air Base, in the Philippines in late 1967. This Seiko 5 Sportsmatic was my introduction to the field of fine, well-made watches, and, as they say, "the rest is history." It's been through rough times, from being my daily beater for the rest of my active duty, through four years of undergraduate work, and the first couple of years of teaching college. It has been doused with water, ending up with a deeply stained dial and semi-rusted movement; but thanks to the efforts of my local jeweler, it was brought back to life and gets worn every once in a while. Today is that "once in a while." The two-tone jubilee bracelet is an aftermarket, added by my jeweler, when the original two-tone bracelet could not be saved. It's a neat watch holding a treasure chest of memories. dave:

doodoowah57 0 Posted February 1, 2017 Is that the quartz version ??? I've been seriously considering this one ... What are dimensions ??? Quality of bracelet ??? Thanks. Yup the quartz. Bracelet seems fine, snaps shut nice and firm. It's 39mm I believe, but seems to wear a little larger due to the shape. thanks for the info ... enjoy the watch
