Panerai Radiomir Strap Bar Help Please

Recommended Posts

Phille30

Hi fairly new here

Picked up a Radiomir a while ago which had a nato strap (understand not the best thing!)

I picked up a new strap but I am having some real issues with the strap bars.

Unfortuantly they have turned whilst wearing the watch and I have lost the pieces that connect the two bars

Now, I have taken the bars off and reseated them however they still move 10-15 degress (away from the face of watch).

I have just again reseated them and the bars do move less

I picked up a replacement set from watchobbession but these didnt fit at all

I was wondering if anyone has any advise, spare parts or can help!

To be perfectly honest, I don't think my Black Seal ever had the connecting tubes between the bars and the strap bars held the strap tight enough by themselves. I'm finding it difficult to imagine how the strap bars can turn when a strap is mounted - surely the strap itself would keep the bars straight? If you are using the correct size of strap, 26mm iirc, then the bars should stay in place imo.

There was always a problem of the screws coming loose on these models and the screws/bars getting lost (I put a dab of clear nail varnish on the screw head once the bars were tightened to help stop the screw turning back) but I don't recall any other issue with the bars turning.

Agree with the above, but if you really want the tubes back, just get the plastic tube off a can of WD40 or something similar, cut 2 pieces stick in boiling water for a few seconds then shove on bars, leave to cool then they will be a nice snug fit.

My PAM did not have a connecting tube either, and I have not had issues with that part of the assembly. The issues with these reps is the screw backing up and falling out as Del has mentioned.
