GenTLe 1,501 Posted May 16, 2017 My collegue (that bought a rep IWC 5001-06 with my help) today came to me and told me it wasn't running. So I told him "ok, give it and I'll check what's going on". I had some difficulties to remove the fake plate (full of half loose screws that were just for show), so sharing which are those that keep the fake plate (and the autowind gears) in place. So these are the ONLY 2 screws you need to remove to lift the plate: This is how the movement looks after the plate has been lifted, with the reversing wheel and the reduction gear: And this is what was causing the trouble and the block of the movement (it comes from a movement tab, those that keep the movement blocked in the case): Luckily the guy didn't slap or mangle the watch trying to make it to restart, it was dangerously near to the hairspring... I think you are ironic :D Anyway, no, slapping a watch is one of the most stupid thing you can do :) More or less like to kick the door of your car because suddenly the battery has gone TFU.
