mike_morgan 0 Posted June 9, 2017 Overflocking guide for newbies: 1: Find a suitable donor watch that can be used to harvest the movement from... do not destroy your precious OEM movement that came with your rep. 2: Remove the quartz crystal which controls the frequency of the watch.... using the following calculations, determine the new frequency at which the movement should be flocked: 3: Once you have solved for K... proceed to purchase a new frequency crystal at that frequency. 4: Install the new crystal and put in a battery... put a second hand on the movement and observe the time it takes to travel one full revolution... write this down... you'll need it later. 5: Count how many teeth are on the main drive gear to the second hand... divide that number by the number your wrote down, and that will give you the percentage of increase you'll need on the second wheel. 6: Get a second wheel that has that % more teeth and install it. You should now have a seriously flocked-up movement Congratulations... you really flocked that up! Put your original movement back in the rep case, and tell everybody how you flocked-up your watch, and since by now, you're over the idea of flocking it... you can even say it's "Overflocked" I hope this helps! That all depends on the situation, but as a rule of thumb, if you feel the need for performance enhancement then always work towards overflocking, because you never know who may happen to be watching (this IS a watch forum, right?) and personally, I always want to put my best foot forward, though I'm sure in the case of the OP, it may actually be putting his best 5 inches forward, as he has indicated a visceral need to overflock in the first place.
