Arism 26 Posted July 20, 2017 I'm a big fan of GMTs. Especially the vintage ones. I was browsing through some pictures on Instagram and this caught my eye: Wow! But is it really worth $35,000? The RRP for a new BLNR is roughly $9000-$10,000. So do you think the custom work is worth the premium? A genuine 6542 can sometimes be found for 2/3 the price of this. Love it? Hate it? Let us know! NCRich 13,746 Posted July 20, 2017 NCRich will sort one like that for few hundred dollars Be a bit more than that. Stupid insert is $200, bezel is another $200. Dial is $100ish, base cartel 1655 watch $125, small hand $30. Then its a question of machining it and finding a better case back. Oh and not breaking anything. You can build something like it for $1000. But we have seen them cost much, much more.
RepGuy 108 Posted July 20, 2017 That seems like quite the labor mark-up on that gen. I get that a lot of work is involved, but a mark-up of 75% seems extreme

This watch above, a very easy pass. Looks like shite!
