Rolex Milgauss ETA 2836

Recommended Posts

rocky_raccoon

Hi

I have recently purchased a Rolex Milgauss ETA 2836 and the seconds hands keeps stopping at 5 minute mark. (This can be fixed if I shake it)

Is there a permanent fix for this?

Many thanks

It stops whilst I'm wearing it :(

I have wound it several times. Hoping it can be easily fixed as I really like the look of my watch!

Sounds like it could use a service.

Might be the seconds hand sraping at the underside of the glass. If so, slightly bend the hand and try again...

Probably will need a service as standard mate, but first you need to find out what's causing the problem, as said it could be the hand hitting the crystal, or it be hitting the minute hand, just because it might be loose on its post. If you are able to remove the movement do so and under a loup and at eye level observe what the hands are doing at the particular point where they stop, see if they are touching or if the second hand is not level with the rest of the hand stack, if its this then adjust the offending hand, you will need to remove it to straighten it ok otherwise there is a risk of it snapping or you marking the dial ok
