By-Tor 0 Posted August 9, 2017 Typical question in the gen forums. Today one guy asked if his Navitimer with week/day/date pushers is genuine. I told him it's extremely valuable and worth.... I'd like to ask the same question about these now. What are the tell-tale signs?

Some grandkid or widow who knows nothing about watches taking one of these into an AD to have the value assessed after the family members passing.
kisomen 0 Posted August 11, 2017 And what was the outcome?

kisomen 0 Posted August 11, 2017 We don't know the genuity of the watches. So if we... ahem... By-Tor whants to know, that the watches are real Rolexes, he has to do something. For example going to an AD.

kisomen 0 Posted August 11, 2017 Sure. But if You ask me, I would bet that the Rolex with a quartz movement is 100% genuine. Though maybe I'm wrong, as I'm not a big Rolex fan.
dappel08 2 Posted August 12, 2017 it could be the pictures but the top two watches have some concerns, there appears to be some imperfections as far as the font is concerned. The watch on the top right appears to have the "ROLEX" font in Italic and to my knowledge I don't believe Rolex has ever applied that font (it could just be the pictures that make it appear that way). The bottom right rolex appears to be a version that Rolex produced in white gold, look at the back of the watch and if there are not any stamping in regards to the gold content that could possibly be a giveaway. This is just my opinion but you are best served to just take them to a pro and have them take a look. Good luck because if they are real two of them are fairly rare. FunnyStarSystem 7,537 Posted August 12, 2017 These are 90's hand job Rolexes, at best. Grandpa would've needed to up his game for a spit shine.
