Plating service asked me if the bezel indices are conductive

I'm thinking about sending a CWC SBS away to be gold plated at http://easyelectroplating.co.uk/   , because I was so impressed with the results got by a member over yonder https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/uk-gold-platers-not-watch-suppliers.68875/  I asked whether they could plate the numbers and  indices on the bezel insert without affecting the black area:

They said they can do it if the numbers/indices are conductive.  Which I suppose they would be if they are bare steel.  Is that right? I haven't bought the watch yet so I can't do a test. What if the insert was from a rep Sub or similar? Are the numbers/indices bare metal?

i know it isnt answering your question but if you want them plating you can get them covered in a conductive coating first then plated, the same way they do phone cases etc

They probably have some lacquer over, if so it will be a nightmare to get off without removing the black

Hmm.   Removing the lacquer sounds like a job for RolexAddict - I bet he's got tools and potions for that sort of thing.

So they can plate plastic if they put the coating on it? How intriguing.

If they could only make the "gems" look just a little less like something from a pound shop Christmas cracker..

They could... By using real gems and not cut glass, this would however make the watch considerably more expensive
