5 mins walk to my local Lidl.  May have to wander there next week.  The online instructions show a holder that allows you to immerse a watch bracelet, while keeping the case out of the water.  Sounds a bit risky to me, and means you can't get the end links clean.  I'd go with bracelet removal.

Well, the dogs drink out of the toilet so it must be safe for watch bands and it's paid for already...........

Only for a little while when you first immerse them then eventually the struggling and screaming and pleading stops....

Oh wait...

That's people not watches...

Depends who the cleaner is and what she looks like.

What is the ideal solution for use in one of these? Just water, or a mix of water and detergent?

According to the instructions, for general cleaning, you can use plain water, or to clean stubborn stains such as grease, 1 part detergent to 5 parts water.
