FerrariMan 0 Posted August 17, 2017 PROLOGUE In the past 5 years or so I have started collecting watches. In particular brand new, high-end. I have always respected vintage Rolex timepieces and found them quit interesting, tho I haven’t pull the trigger on one just yet. ACT 1 3 days ago I went with my better half to the opera. I have noticed a tourist at the entrance wearing an extremely ill fitting suit but his wrist watch what's really caught my eye. ACT 2 We sat down at our seats, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about that amazing 5512 he had. I stood up (the Concert did not started by then, I’m not a neanderthal and I found him sitting quit far from us. I knew I wouldn’t stop thinking about it. I got up again and told my girl.... “I’ll be back”!! . In order to get to his sitting area zone I had to step outside and re-enter through a completely different entrance (I’m a lazy guy usually but I just had to have another glimpse on that watch!!). ACT3 Met the guy, asked for his forgiveness and told him that his watch caught my attention. He smiled, took it off, gave it to me and told me that a Moder (?) made that for him, and it’s a replica. I gave it back, thanked him and went all the way back..a bit disappointed. ==================== I thought to myself.. It would be perfect for me to see if I’m truly getting into vintage timepieces or it is just a relapsing phase. I have tended to hate fake watches, tho this just might make me switch sides! So basically the main question is.. Where can I find a Moder that would produce the same watch for me? Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to take it outside, as I can’t allow myself to get called out. It means the timepiece doesn’t have to be 100% accurate in every way. Thank you for reading I’d be grateful for info p.s: this forum is amazing!
