Case internal measurements?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I have been looking for the internal measurements on a watch case that would fit either a Miyota 9015 or ETA 2824, which I have been getting conflicting information on. Some sources say they should fit the same case dimensions (I know hands/dial may need to be different between the two), and others say they will not, but none of these sources list the actual measurements. Does anyone know the internal measurements (height/width) needed to fit a movement/dial. I realize external measurements differ between designs, but I am hoping to at least figure out how big the inside would need to be to fit one of these movements.

Kind of the mirror image of your question, but finding out the sizes of the movements (diameter and thickness) is pretty easy.

Startime Supply has online technical sheets for just about everything. It's a bit arcane, as you need to wade thru the movements and then click on one, and then go click on the specifications sub-page, but it's all there.

Start here:

and here:

Great supplier of parts and bits, and it's easy to open an account if you need anything.  Their printed catalogs are excellent. There's a specific one for movements, so you might just want to order one.

My personal projects at the moment are to (A) to fit Seiko movements into our Rolex rep cases and also to  (B) fit Chinese GMT movements into Seiko cases.  Startime stuff has been my go-to for everything.
