39 MM or other vintage Royal Oak Rep?

Recommended Posts

Benjah88

Hello! the 42mm royal oak jumbo ins stainless on a bracelet  seems to be a little too large for me.

When I ask the TD's for a 39mm or even a 36mm vintage version of the AP they tell me the reps are so bad and not even worth purchasing.

Is there a vintage or 39mm Royal oak of premium quality? have any of you purchased the new 37mm? is it feminine?

thank you!

Ignore the TDs, the 39mm reps might not be quite as good as the 41mm but I agree that 41mm is too large, and the 39mm Royal Oak is such a better watch in my opinion. I had one of the 15300 with Asian ETA movement, lovely and thin, and they said the same thing to me about the quality but it was absolutely fine, better than a lot of these new fangled decorated movement reps!!!

Don't know if that version is still available but Toro has pics of it on his website!

The one on Toro is the one I'm talking about yeah!!

The one on FatPandas site looks to have a decorated movement so won't be as thin but it looks ok surprisingly! Gotta be something not quite right for $150 though so I'm guessing it won't be as well put together as the one from Toro!

Whatever you buy go for the 15300 or 15450 instead of the 14790, the same cartel/cn version has been out for years and it is lacking in alld epartments:

Very rough and coarse finishing, Bezel pressure fitted with glued screws (cant remove them without damaging them) that means the bezel cant be rebrushed without damaging the screws. Often screws are misaligned, endlinks sit crooked or too far into the case etc. rehaut diameter als has varying tolerances. Dial isnt bad actually but t swiss made t printing is wrong. I think crown tube is only pressure fit and not screwed.

The bracelet (stiff And rough) and clasp suck. Also the caseshapeand bezel to case proportions are completely wrong.

Here a review https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/review-ap-royal-oak-14790.218209/

This is the only available model since about 2007 and it has barely changed from back then, there are no other options. There was a TWBest/WM9 version but these were already scarce back then and are impossible to find nowadays.

The 14790 already got very bad reviews 10 years ago and while expectations and average rep quality have risen the quality of this particular watch hasnt changed much.

This is what a 36mm looks like on a 6-inch wrist. 30883804573_c15cc5959c_b.jpg

Thank you for all the responses...Now that I see a 37mm isn't tiny (seems to be marketed as a female watch) I'm conflicted between getting a JF quality (which seems to be the best) 37mm or a 39mm which seems to be the best gen modern AP. They seem to be the same price....

This is probably what I'm going to end up picking up. I love my 15400, but I feel the size doesn't do the watch justice.

You have the 15400 and you're going to purchase the 15450?? why?

what color? At first i wanted a classic blue face but I'm looking at the silver dial! stunning.
