Watches in Thailand

So, am on jollies on Koh Samui and found 4 separate shops all within 500 meters or so from one another, which were stuffed to thecrafters with high end reps (and some crap aswell).

Hundreds of the little buggers, was like a watch whore's paradise!!

Downside is none of them would let me take a pic - arses!

May have bought, erm, one....ish

I wonder if the high end reps in those shops are from China, or if they have their own factories that produce different quality ones.

How did the prices of the higher end reps compare to the TD's?

I would be curious about to too. Price differences for this crowd vs retail

Congrats on the find and I'm glad you are happy with them.

I wouldn't really call them high end reps though.  21j asian movements in a chronograph (faux counters) its well erm... pretty crappy if you ask me (IWC & Tag)

Oh and did you notice the 12 marker alignment on the IWC.. glued by a blind man

Breitling and milgauss look nice.  What's the breitling got under the hood - quartz?  At least it looks like it has actual chrono sub-dials (all be it in the wrong positions as to gen)

Seems you may have made yourself the whipping boy for the frustrated energies of hitherto thwarted QC pics assassins.

The main thing is that you are happy, you had your Samui adventure and haggled yourself some souvenirs, whats wrong with that.

I'll wager though that when you look down at your wrist, your memory response won't be overridden by trainspotter-esque sub dial measurements

:D

Never said all the ones i bought were high end, said that the high end ones were up at sub £100 each to buy

these were, in my opinion, middle ground stuff at more than reasonable prices - the Pam, Milgaus and Breiting are better quality than the IWC, Omega and Tag.  I got a great deal on buying 6 at once :-)

End of the day, I like the look of them and that's all that matters in my book

You mean; buy 1 or 2 high end or nego 6 mid to low end.........

Should have bought 1 and, also, nego 2, I bet that would have been roughly the same $$.

He bought what he wanted and is happy with those purchases. The reason he bought 6 mid range reps may be the same reason that led many of us to go the rep route instead of spending many times more on a gen. Let the man enjoy his purchase
