GenTLe 1,501 Posted September 9, 2017 Still have to get what TF is a "marriage watch". Or, better, why one should wear one of these things at marriage instead of a Patek/Rolex/Vacheron etc etc...
Undinist 20 Posted September 9, 2017 It sold for $3,500. Why so cheap?
Xpletiv 16 Posted September 10, 2017 Considering the engravings are the same all around, how does one know that the movement is genuine?

fatarms 7,776 Posted September 10, 2017 So, I just got here tonight. The first two threads I clicked on were the "God help me" threads. I'm debating opening any other thread here or just calling it a night on RWG...
FunnyStarSystem 7,537 Posted September 10, 2017 There's a reason fine dining establishments serve their dishes in exquisitely small portions. What we have here is a Patek Meatloaf Dinner.
Undinist 20 Posted September 10, 2017 So a Patek 1899 movement isn't worth much. Who knew. If anyone's sad about missing that bargain, here's another with a 1900 movement for £5k. I'm surprised it hasn't been snapped up. Maybe everyone in Palm Beach already has one. https://www.chrono24.co.uk/patekphilippe/pocket-watch-classic--id6859729.htm
Montyb82 0 Posted September 10, 2017 I'd have more confidence in these things if they did a before and after on the movement showing the original pocket watch before turning it into liberace's box queen (as he felt it was a bit much to wear!)
Undinist 20 Posted September 10, 2017 The tragedy is that the case is either in a landfill or, if it's very lucky, has been ingeniously upcycled as an ashtray https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/162855-ansonia-pocket-watch-ashtray-part-
