UK Customs delay - Parcelfroce "Sorted"

Recommended Posts

Chipperr

Hi guys. I'm a newbie and decided to make my first purchase of the TAG Heuer Monaco Steve McQueen watches.

I placed my order with a TD on 31/08/2017 and it arrived in the U.K. on the 08/09/2017, however tracking now just states "International hub - Sorted" on the parcel force website. It hasn't changed since 13/09/2017. Should I be getting worried? It's been nearly 2 weeeks now.

Tracking information below:

2017-09-13 10:54

2017-09-10 20:18

2017-09-07 09:01

My last one was "awaiting customs clearance" for 4 days. Parcel Force tracking said was being "assessed for vat and import duties"  and I may receive a letter to pay this. Once it said sorted it was out for delivery next day.  Think they must have a backlog or something, but in my case once it said "sorted" on tracking was at my door couple days later, and no  import duty and vat letter either!

My guess would be it's gone missing in the UK

Thanks for the replies guys. What will be the purpose of the letter? Will it just be a case of paying duty? Thanks again, gutted my first purchase wasn't a successful one! :(

usually it takes 1~3 day, but once in a while  it takes about 10~15 days, then they will release it.

from my experience,  no need to worry about this. just be patient to wait for it.  UK have very very low customs risk.   Good luck.

and check your dealer's T&C if there is any guarantee about the customs risk.  this is important for u.

Hi guys. Update on the above. I had the following email from a parcelforce yesterday after contacting them about the package.

“I'm sorry that you haven't received your parcel as expected.

As 24 hours has passed since your parcel was last scanned, please provide the following information so I can initiate a search on your item:

• Parcel number
• The senders name, address and telephone number
• The recipient's name, address and telephone number (A search cannot be initiated without the recipients telephone number)
• Description of contents
• Value of item”

Should I give them this information? Thanks

When you're awaiting an illegal counterfeit import, the last thing you should be doing is drawing attention to the package.  Keep your head down, and be patient.
