The «Is this a replica?» thread

So, I’m sure that many of you encounter this as well. I’m part of a genuine watches group on Facebook, and this guy pops up with a wristie.

1. Top SEL. Look at the (possible) gap between lug and SEL.

2. «invisible» crown at 06:00

3. Date centering

Is this dude trying to pass a rep off as a gen?

I don’t know if there’s interest for a thread like this, but I’ll give it a try. Post your pictures here :)

Might be just the shadow but it looks like the pearl is off centre as well

Bezel numbers look very white

Fat hour hand, it is probably a Regmariner.

Look at the chapter hash min markers (on the bottom they are longer and an the top they are almost non-existent) the dial is not centered.

Definately a replica. Administrators of the page had to remove it. I'm not one for calling anyone out, but trying to pass a replica off as a gen is low. Especially in a forum where people spend loads of their hard earned money to buy great timepieces.

First thing I look at on subs is the hour hand. Too fat and the point is too short. Looks like my Regmariner.

The hands on that look like the $40 Explorer I bought. Not crisp like my 16570.

Bezel engravings are too thin and too white.  Fat hour hand, no AR black hole effect from that angle.  Someone kick that guy in the nuts.
