Edge22 0 Posted November 13, 2017 Not so long ago I bought a watch with a Asian 2836-2 28800 movement, used it quite a lot when received, but now it's been sitting in the box for maybe 1 month. It starts up with just a swirl and seem to run without problems, but I can't advance the arms more than maybe 1 or 2 hours when wanting to set current time. It feel like a "click" when turning the crown and then it stop advancing, backwards is no problem at all. Anyone out there able to assist in what to look for? Thanks in advance for any help and ideas.
ryaku 3 Posted November 13, 2017 Perhaps the problem is the crown and not the movement itself
GenTLe 1,490 Posted November 13, 2017 Try to turn the crown while pulling it (not exaggerating with force).

Tried that but nothing happened, guess I'm just afraid to pull too hard.
GenTLe 1,490 Posted November 13, 2017 (edited) It is good to be afraid with watch movements By the way, I'd suggest you to contact a trusted watch tech to have it fixed. Probably nothing complex to fix but not for someone not into movement techniques... And a small problem with movement is way better (in my point of view) than a bad crown. A movement (especially an ETA Clone) is well fixable or, in the worst case, replaceable. The crown: it can be a mess to have the proper replacement.
