raxford 0 Posted November 20, 2017 Good news is I was never planning on selling it, bad news is I just left it in my pocket and washed it. So into a bag of rice it goes. Please say a prayer to the watch gods for her :(

raxford 0 Posted November 20, 2017 I have no idea yet. I threw it in rice immediately but it went all the way through a cycle. It was running haha. But I'm more concerned about getting the water out to prevent corrosion. It didn't look like it had moisture on side but I'll be so so sad of I've ruined it haha. I reckon it'll be fine, and if not, after an hour in the oven in that rice it'll make a great risotto!

Genius 281 Posted November 20, 2017 If it was a gen is should, in theory, easily be able to survive a trip through the washer assuming it cool wash and the chrono pushers weren't depressed by the spin action... Whilst the general consensus is that chrono models are difficult to waterproof I've seen quite a few posts on the rep forums from people successfully pressure testing their chronos with little or no modification. You may just be lucky and have got a rep that came with decent water resistance from the factory!?
raxford 0 Posted November 20, 2017 Well it's running today. Winds well and I can't see anything in the dial. I took the back off this morning and put it back in - I can't believe I hadn't thought to do that. Thanks for the ideas. We'll see how it goes.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
black263 228 Posted November 20, 2017 I have these in my cupboard, just in case. Less than £10 is a good insurance policy in my books. I last used them when the rubber seal came loose from the rear of my car headlight and condensation formed inside. Took a couple of days to dry it out. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lapuretes-Desiccant-Regenerative-Indicator-efficient-50×5g/dp/B01CI13PI2/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1511181660&sr=1-1&keywords=silica+gel+sachets+with+indicator
