Managed to source a Sharpie (Silver Metallic) and did a Relining....

It gave the engravings the matte finish I intended to achieve!

Here are a couple of Macros :

Sharpie vs Molotow.....

I believe that both give a boost to the insert with the least effort!

You can't go wrong with either method!

Give it a try!

I´ve been doing the sharpie mod in my Rolexes for years, and cost wise it is the best option hands down.

I don´t see why spending more money/time/effort on other mods to achieve what a sharpie does pretty well

Great work, OP and miles better than the stock noob, which is the weakest link in the noob sub imo. The shortfall of the paint/pen mods is the blotchiness/lack of uniformity. I tried smokes mod, sharpie mod and various paint mods, but my eye kept getting drawn to the imperfections. I conceded last year and bought the gen.

If you have it as a daily beater, it might need one every now and then:ohwell:

I did the molotow mod. A huge difference after it. Platinum mod is a must una noob sub-c. As my daily watch I must do at least every month a few touches to keep the mod in perfect conditions

Beautiful watch.    Only thing that confuse me.. is that I was certain that serial rehaut engraved numbers must match seconds indices on dial..

???

I must have got something wrong.

Which is actually impossible without "splitting" SN into 2.   (Since there's 8 SN Digits and 9 indices inbetween ROLEXROLEXROLEX rehaut engraving.)

I’m not sure sorry. All I know is that mine is pictured as you quoted. As you say, 8 =/= 9. Don’t know how else it could work

I must of have gotten it wrong.

I remember watching some gen rehaut sn's an they're straight over second indices.

Maybe that was 6 digit "old" sub or something..

Yours on the other hand, have them perfectly aligned in between of indices, so this is certainly correct.

Molotow is 10 times or more chrome sheen than Sharpie. Which one is more gen-like? I'm not a Rolex guy but recently I got an ok deal (seller didn't disclose some bad dings) and I can now see what all the fuss is about with Rolexes; they're in my view  luxurious but not over the top and can be great beaters, at least the subs and dssds.
