PackerJames95 0 Posted February 12, 2018 Hi guys, so I'm usually over on RWI but since its been down have been frequenting the RWG forum quite often! The layout is pretty user-friendly In any case, I've been looking into getting a Tourbillon for a while, and have finally narrowed it down to either the AP Royal Oak Tourbillon with the petit tapisserie dial in blue (https://puretime05.com/royal-oak-41mm-tourbillon-ss-blue-dial-on-ss-bracelet.html), or the Royal Oak Openworked Tourbillon that released a little earlier in the year (https://puretime05.com/royal-oak-tourbillon-extra-thin-openworked-ss-skeleton-dial-on-ss-bracelet.html). The dimensions of both watches seem to be identical, and I'm wondering if the movements used in both are the same as well? Obviously the blue dial tourbillon has been out for a lot longer, and been tried and tested by people a lot more than the open worked tourbillon, so I'm also wondering about the reliability of the tourbillon movement in the latter, if anyone has any experience with asian tourbillon movements in general? I also read through the Gen vs. Rep AP tourbillon review on this forum, and am wondering if anyone is versed in the flaws of the rep Openworked version as compared to the gen either? Oh and from anyone who has one of the tourbillon movements, I was wondering what the power reserve is like? Any assistance would be really appreciated!
