Made myself a nice wall clock :)

Had this old wall clock that I bought in Barcelona few years ago, a little diy with foam roman numbers, you know the deal.

Got tired of it and was shopping around for nice dealer clocks, but to be honest they’re either rubbish, expensive or both.

So I had a go in my spare time and cooked something up.

First I needed a nice dial pic, straight up shot from the front center, not easy but I found a particularly nice one, edited it a bit, pumped up the res and got it printed at a local print shop.

Had ordered a 30cm plywood disc on the bay for cheap, including center hole.

Made the hand using the original ones and some balsa wood.

And the toughest part was the lume, it took me a lot of lume powder and some slow hardening resin but it looks spot-on now!

Might redo the hands at one point but pretty happy as is. Sandwich dial would also be nice ...

Haha, that's so cool, you talented SOB!

Do you have a photo of it next to an everyday item to give us a sense of scale?

Cool! And much better looking than most dealer clocks I’ve seen. Well done.

Great result. Amazing steady hands applying the lume.

With that lume, I hope it doesn't sit in your bedroom. It'd be too bright!

Any chance you could finish building the watch cabinet before moving on to your next masterpiece?

Negative

I now plan on having ongoing projects that never get completely finished

@Sommelier that would be a costly endeavour I’m afraid
