Invicta FiftyFive Fathoms

I'm not sure if this is the right place to drop this topic but please move the topic to the appropriate part of the forum if it's needed.

My journey starts with having an idea of an FiftyFive fathoms mod like many others already out there, but still a bit different an unique.

The journey started with an Invicta 8296 pro diver with the waving bezel instead of an coin bezel. I ordered a dial from dagaz, squelette hands from cousinsuk and bezel insert from ebay.

Let's get started! I removed the bracelet and opened the case back to take the whole apart

Movement out, time to remove the hands and dial and add the new dial and hands to it

I had to remove the glass for upcoming work and took the time to get the old bezel off

Now here comes the problem. There are a shit load of Invicta FFF mods out there and almost all of them have removed the Invicta logo from the side through vile or someway else. I didn't want to remove the logo because that would make 1 side of the case less thick than the other, thus being not symmetrical anymore.

What I did? Check out yourself, before:

I sandblasted the case and bracelet with glass pearls! The effect is a fabelous mat finish that gives it a bit of vintage/tool look.

Going on with putting the pieces back together. I didn't like the bright yellow rotor from the seiko nh35 so I just made it black quickly

The case back was not sandblasted because I want to replace it with a submariner generic case back (if anybody has one for sale, let me know!)

Very nicely done! Not fully convinced of the gold insert, but the rest is amazing!

Cool watch, impressive.

If I was to be super picky, the Cyclops mag looks a bit weird - distorted - but nice watch, well done!

Thanks guys! I think the mag distortion is due to the angle of which I took the picture, otherwise I'll just reset the glass again Xd

I’ve loved the FFF look since I first saw them, gotta add one one day.

Really like the sandblasted look you achieved, and I agree that a sterile type caseback would suit this very well.

You should be happy with this result!

Thank you fellas! The case back is pretty hard to find unfortunately. Raffles dials and time dont have it on stock so I'm actually thinking of buying a cheap sub from dhgate and just use it for parts
