@Thommo82 is really in the USA and is my neighbor.  He has been helping me do my project since he had good success on his own.  It came out rather nice!

Not really happy the way the pillows are sinking down into the slot so it is time to improvise.

A roll of project foam from wally world, some of my felt and a bit of hot glue.  I will put together some small 1" thick squares to put in each slot  to raise things up a bit.

Project is now complete.  There are plenty of flaws and my mistakes and I will hopefully remember and correct those when I do the next one; yes, I am already planning on another project 

One of the most noticeable flaws that was there from day one is how the doors fit, not the most desirable but oh well.  The other thing that I encountered was that once I put the doors back on I noticed that the first shelf up from the bottom is slightly bowed.  The bottom door will rub when you open and close it 

 All in all I am OK with it.  It's not 100% of how I would have liked it to turn out but at least I can get all of my watches in one "box"; in fact I still have room for 3 more

The big question now is what do I want to do with all of the watch boxes?  I got that 18 slot Rainer plus a few others that hold bigger watches especially well.
