Won’t be disappointed, 50% of 116500 ceramics on instagram posted by the 200k watch bloggers are ARF!

The comparison wrist shots are Noob vs Gen.

Due to scheduling neither of us were in the country at the same time for ARF vs Gen.

Oops my bad. I was having to look at the pictures individually by replacing org with cc, so obviously I got my wires crossed. Thanks for clarifying. Still, if that's what the Noob looks like compared to the Gen, I don't think it looks as catastrophically bad as some of the doomsayers say. Yes, it doesn't look Gen but it doesn't look terrible by a long way. I can see why you'd want to put a gen dial on it though and that's something for me to consider down the line.

Yeah it’s not bad by any means and you’d have to be a rep guy to call it out. Without a gen in hand beside I don’t think many could it be guess work.

We handed the two watches round our mates in the pub and it was 50/50 on what people said was real!

We’re all just too fussy with small micro details that can’t be seen in the real world.

Yeah that's not a bad thing by any means because it's the people who crave the 1:1 detail who will keep the factories making reps that are closer and closer to gen. And when that happens, we all win.

For us complete newbies it makes things harder when we come to compare. Still, i'm really enjoying the research a lot, as it happens. It feels like in my 40s i'm now learning a new skill and any day where I learn something new is a good day.

Hi Guys,

I already read the movement was a bit noisy, but never  heard that. Did you?

Quote

The second hand @6 moves smoothly at 28800 BPH without any stuttering or stopping; a known issue with the ARF Daytona. The clutch was serviced when the Genuine ETA Rotor was installed.

Thx

Yeah ARF is unwearable without fitting a decent rotor, sounds loud and gritty as F*** on the wrist.

Oh my God, really?? It's horrible!

Either I wait for the V2 :pointlaugh: or I go to the latest Noob with the fully functional chrono, but I did not hear a lot about it.  I couldn't find a discussion apart this thread.

It’s a simple modification, remove deco plate and rotor fit eta rotor and oil. After that it’s perfect!

I really think unless you want to eventually franken then ARF is ideal! @WatchaholicMallorca Has my ARF and has compared to a Gen in real life, awesome watch.

No, no Franken, just a good rep.

By cons, I don't understand very well (Sorry, I'm French) what I have to do when you say that:

@Glaude can translate he is also French

the ARF watch has a faux plate to make it look like the Rolex moment.

The rotor is hollow to accommodate this faux plate that is noisy.

To fix the issue you can remove the faux plate and rotor. Fit a standard ETA rotor.

Tres facile! :)

Okay, if I understand well, I have to buy another rotor to replace the one already installed?

Merci infiniment, mon ami.;)

In french the word "cons" is the equivalent of "idiots" in English...

@deju - Care to tell me how you got YOUR hands on the girl of MY dreams?

The 116520 takes the crown (< ahh) as the first watch I ever bought a rep of and this one has been calling my name in my sleep!

I need one ASAP.

Has anybody actually made a Franken yet with a gen dial. I am looking to do the same with Gen hands and bezel but don't want to be the guinea pig

Is it just me, or does Noob's new 116520 have different size subdials on the black vs white dial 116520?
