Hyjynx 2 Posted April 3, 2018 That's a collection of bronze that the world's third-best athlete would be proud of.Thanks! That’s a mighty fine collection there pal Thanks! What phenomenal collection, some real eclectic picks in that lotThanks! What factory are the Heritage Black Bays from? They're beauts! Thanks! The brown is KW, the blue XF. Funny fact though is the brown is the reddish V1 made before the factory got the copper/aluminum mix closer to gen. I like how it has eventually turned out over time. had no idea there was so much bronze out thereThere are gems out there from micro and boutique brands. I spend a great deal of time at WUS to stay in the know. Lovely collection mate!!! Some of those gen are impressive! Thanks! How about a group shot? Would love to see some size comparison. Excellent collection. Thanks! Here ya go. In no particular order, but if there are any you want to see side by side, just let me know. I don’t do wristies, though. Awesome collection you have there! You’ve helped me confirm one of my next purchases, the Tudor Blackbay Bucherer Blue edition. Looks fantastic. Thanks! Yeah, they knocked that one out of the park at first swing. McGilli 1 Posted April 3, 2018 What's the size on that Vostok? That - is wicked..... I love every watch in that collection - but that Vostok is my favourite. Probably cuz it looks like it's related to Invicta
GingerApple 7,224 Posted April 3, 2018 You're absolutely mental in an amazing way. Keep it up. The patina on some of the pieces, particularly the photos towards the top of the thread are great. Were they like that out of the box or did it develop over time with oxidization? I'm wondering if my Tudor Bucherer will go that way too.
Wriggles 12 Posted April 3, 2018 I really like that Heroic 18. Have a few bronze myself but the only crossover with yours is the Zelos Helmsman2, though I went blue dial and not the meteorite. Lovely collection. Natural patinas or forced?
Hyjynx 2 Posted April 4, 2018 :Applause::Applause:Thanks! What's the size on that Vostok? That - is wicked..... I love every watch in that collection - but that Vostok is my favourite. Probably cuz it looks like it's related to Invicta Thanks! It’s a 49 mm wide (without crown) and 17 mm thick hockey puck. Easily the biggest bronze watch in my collection at this moment. However, it will be dethroned in a few days. Stay tuned! You're absolutely mental in an amazing way. Keep it up. The patina on some of the pieces, particularly the photos towards the top of the thread are great. Were they like that out of the box or did it develop over time with oxidization? I'm wondering if my Tudor Bucherer will go that way too.LOL! Thanks! Some were forced with such good results that I’m unable to remember if I’d forced the patina or not. Some obviously need a do-over. And that’s the beauty of bronze patination - you can do a “tabula rasa” anytime. You’d need a bit of patience with the Bucherer if you go the au naturel way. Like the gen, it has a high aluminum content by design, intended to slow down patination. I really like that Heroic 18. Have a few bronze myself but the only crossover with yours is the Zelos Helmsman2, though I went blue dial and not the meteorite. Lovely collection. Natural patinas or forced? Thanks! I almost got the blue Helmsman, but was curious what a meteorite dial looks like in real life. The idea that it’s “extraterrestrial” is fascinating.
elp 26 Posted April 4, 2018 What a great collection, especially loving the less common pieces like the Nethuns and Narval, thank you for sharing! I only have one bronze piece now, a Steinhart Marine Officer, but you made me want more again
