Crown unthreads 2824-2

Recommended Posts

Hi all, Noob to all things watches but I received a PO  with a 2824-2 movement from a TD 3 weeks ago and when I unscrew the crown to it's third position to move the hands, the crown unscrews itself completely from the winding stem. I maybe wrong but it seems a straight forward fix , would superglue do the job or would it set before I've had a the chance to screw the crown all the way? Is there a better choice of glue or am I approaching this wrongly? Thanks for any help.

Actually, on a stem, I suggest the purple locktite- "low strength". I think you can get it at NAPA for carburetor screws etc. If you use the stronger ones (particularly on a weak, rep stem), you run the risk of the stem breaking in the crown.

Use this for setting crown tubes as well. It enhances water resistance in that location.
