I dread clicking on your collection posts Hyjynx...

it just means more beautiful watches I have to buy!

How do the tourbys fare in terms of durability? Has any broken down before? Who does rep tourby repairs?

LOL! Maybe I’ll start adding a NSFW (Not Safe For Wallet) warning to the subject then. I have not experienced any problem with a tourbillon, really. The Mystere’s hour gears were slipping, but the tourbillon was working just fine. I didn’t know any watch smith that would work on a watch with a tourbillon movement (I still don’t), so I had to send it back to my TD for repairs. It’s been working fine ever since. Mind you, I have a fairly large (ahem!) rotation. So most of my watches get worn only about 4-5 times a year.

Thanks. Thanks also for pointing out the omission. I’ve added a group shot in the original post.

A most elegant solution to avoid watches breaking down :D

Is that IWC green? I'm in love with green dials. Personally I just feel as if yellow gold/green is very clean.

Exactly. It sounds counterintuitive, but the best way to make your reps last longer is to have more of them.

Yes, it’s emerald green and stunning with the gold markers. It’s the Middle East Limited Edition. Only 25 gens exist. Possibly all bought by oil sheikhs.

@Hyjynx , from which TD you got the Memorigin Stellar AT1118?

That explains it - since I saw it on this post I was looking in all the TDs sites with no success. this is one amazing watch!

That’s true. I’m used to tourbillons, but this is on another level. Comes in a nice, ornate box that’s also a winder.

Thank you for your kind words. I received requests for more pictures of the Memorigin. Here are a few. Please excuse the lints and fingerprints.

The box. It also doubles as a watch winder.

The dial. There’s a lot of styles going on here - Mother of Pearl, carbon fiber, guilloché, and skeletonized. But they work together for a beautiful wholesomeness.

The “bullhead” crown and 2-parts crystal. Notice the notch in the strap to accommodate the crown. The drawback being replacement straps can be gotten only from Memorigin or custom made. I should add though that the one that comes with the watch is real croc and should last a long time using the deployant.

The crystal is bifurcated- in two parts. The tourbillon crystal is domed and wraps around, giving a unique side view of the tourbillon in action.

The caseback. (Sorry it’s a bit out of focus.)

The butterfly deployant.

There is no such thing as “too many tourbillons”, is there?

A Roger Dubuis joins the collection....

I usually hate people quoting posts and leaving the pictures in - but who's gonna mind with this?

That, and of course the Memorigin, are gorgeous. I'd never get anything done - just sit there watching the tourbillon go round and round and round..
