Pseudorep 3 Posted June 21, 2018 Despite all the standard tells associated with Speedy Reps, and the particular tells with this one, it's a very nice piece. This took absolutely f***ing ages to actually come to the TD from the factory, and the first one had a bad movement so giving JH factory a poor score as a result of that. Firstly on the wrist the sub-dial spacing is barely noticeable, and you forget about the 12-hour totaliser being a second hour hand. The piece is reasonably well made but there are a few sharp edges. The bracelet is really good quality though. Now given the rarity of the gen, and the absolute attention to detail that went into the design I'll let a few flaws pass without question on this one. Flaws: No lume on the text like the gen Crown logo is the new omega logo rather than the old one Caseback is engraved 0/1948 rather than x/2012. Bezel text is a bit too grey Stem is 1-1.5mm too long so the crown is a bit too prominent. Would give the rep a 5/10 since you fool anyone, but the watch is an 8/10. I'd happily wear it as it's a nice piece. Pictures:
ruddz 0 Posted June 21, 2018 This is really nice and interested, was going to pull the trigger on seamaster but might just add this also! Is it only one version of it yet ?
Pseudorep 3 Posted June 21, 2018 Yep at the moment only the JH version. Be warned though JH is a slow factory so you might be waiting 2-3 weeks for QC photos. But honestly if you can live with the small flaws it's a nice watch. Worse case just rough it up a bit and claim it's a rare vintage model (it looks straight out the 1970s). deju 1,871 Posted June 21, 2018 Interesting model. Unfortunate the sub dial spacing flaw is noticeable at a fair arms length. I'd love a snoopy rep otherwise
paccbet 7,176 Posted June 21, 2018 Nice one mate, a vintage leather strap would be even more awesome

I'd love a snoopy rep otherwise It is and it isn't. You notice it if you're looking for it but just casually looking at the watch you tend to forget about the spacing and just enjoy that it's a nice looking piece. Of course with all things the pictures exaggerate features and flaws. 12 minutes ago, paccbet said: Nice one mate, a vintage leather strap would be even more awesome Indeed - that's the plan! Yup, you might think I'm mad but I was surprised as I always told my self it's not noticeable at a distance. The speedmaster is very under the radar and it's mostly watch buff's that will notice one. At a family event at a good 5m distance within 10 seconds I spotted a person wearing a speedy with short indicies , in another 10 without being obvoious saw the pusher alignment and knew it was a gen Auto. Nice pictures also, thanks for sharing !No worries glad you like the photos. I enjoy reviewing and providing good pictures information on some of the less common reps, because if more people buy them more watches will be cost effective for factories to rep! gmchris 68 Posted July 4, 2018 A nice alternative Speedie When are they gonna start putting microstepper was quartz in speedies? - it would sort subdial spacing and reliability issues
