The red stripes are just a mock up, made from automotive striping tape that I had left over from taping the waterline on my boat. I don't think I'm going to go to the trouble of painting the red stripes though. It actually looked a lot better when it was just painted yellow. Maybe a red, white, and blue patriotic dial next!
