The Top 10 Lies of Replica Watches

Recommended Posts

shasta

Hi,

I'm relatively new to this site and unsure if this is the right thread to ask this...

I've come across a website with good images and comparatively low prices. Can someone please tell me if they could be genuine? Web url is

www.luxuryshop.co

Before I got her,

I bought my first Daytona exotic dial replica from an "~european~“ dealer. Inside europe selling’s are to calm the german toll officers, who are very strict.

The dealer I chosed had the best reviews on a much visited website, which (now i learnt here) was (maybe) home made lies.

Inside the FAQs they promise Mijota automatic movements, which are said to be pretty reliable.

Instead i got a cheap quartz movement inside the rep.

Its not what I wanted, but this rep runs well, all 4 hands are moving (not the same way like the gen) and the watch looks pretty nice. I paid 300€. ...maybe to much.

3 weeks ago I ordered another vintage Daytona from PC (Joshua) and still wait for the postman to ring.

He sent my QCpics which seemed to be ok. Only minus are the steel bezels.

I found out, that the numerics on the steel bezels ( rolex ref 6262, 6239, 6265)

are always different to the gen ones ( look at the number 70, 75, on the tachymeter). The original old fashinoned 7 has a little drop nose, similar to this Times numeric here.

...while the common found reps have modern 7 numerics ( like this one here).

I haven’t found any gen looking steel bezel yet.

Does anybody know a TD for gene looking steel bezels??

Still a noob, but thankful for any information to get wiser!

Thanks for reading.

Thank You RWG

You can't be such nitpicker on a watch that it has much more visible flaws, like the spacing of the chrono subdials. By the way there aren't many factories that do such watch. One has correct size and uneven pushers, but wrongly placed subdials (probably the one you purchased), another has symmetric pushers and correct subdial proportions but it's 39.5mm sized, which is wrong.

Another has the 7750 inside, so it's way thicker.

Stick to more recent/easier pieces if you want more correct reps. Remember that there aren't so many calibers they can use in the reps, therefore they often have to adapt the rep to them.
