From what I'm reading, we need to be realistic with expectations but it seems to me that there's a huge range if prices and quality in the rep bracket

Hi everyone! New to this forum. I love rep watches. I had my first rep Rolex about 10 years ago. I loved it! Worked great for about 2 years and stopped. Was totally worth it. I bought it from someone and had no idea how they acquired it. 3 years ago i bought a beautiful Rolex rep in New York (Chinatown) worked for about 1 day. Too bad because it looks so good! So I've been lucky enough to find this forum and a few others. I am waiting for a rep Rolex and should get it any day. Crossing my fingersxx.

Glad to be here. Posts may not be high volume b/c i work full time, have a family and 2 other forums i need to also follow and post. I'm also into LV reps and shop a lot for them.

A quick question for all you rep boffins out their. What's the longest time period a rep has lasted you?

I bought a Tag replica 6 years ago in NYC. I wore it 2 years with no issues at all. Beautiful watch, even shower resistant :)

I still have one going strong that I bought back in about 2000.

If you buy a watch with a decent movement, get it serviced when it needs it, there's no reason why it shouldn't last as long as an equivalently-priced gen.

1) Besides just flat out not working, are there any indicators that a watch needs to get serviced ? I ask because I bought an 800dollar rep and after a month the winder stopped holding as much "charge" as it was ( <4 hrs )

2) I read somewhere that the asian valjouix 7750 movement is ok, as long as you don't use the timer/additional features on a watch - is this true and can you recommend a more reliable movement (that rwg td's carry) ?

Interesting post, great advise

I would like to share my buying experience

I purchased a watch from China, before the purchase there was a slight problem with exchanging emails due to the language barrier, but i went ahead with the purchase

The item arrived a (Rolex GMT) inc box and cert

All was well for about 9mths, when it stopped all of a sudden, dreading the worst, I made contact with the seller to explain the problem , but to my surprise he gave me an address to post this back the item back to him

Approx 6weeks later, it came back and touch wood - 2yrs on all is well

There are some genuine guys outs there - but please be wary

A great intro to replicas, with all the hype you see on websites some people expect an almost perfect copy of a gen at a bargain basement price. Great to see that someone is managing expectations
