thanks for taking the time to give insights into this - though i can imagine that you would want to do that to keep a forum like this clean from the same old noob questions and complaints!...

i really like how the members here try to make the experience worthwhile for everyone involved - i feel right at home ;)

Excellent first post.... thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

You'll have so much more fun with this hobby if you have realistic expectations.

A rep is a rep and thus a rep has flaws. Besides there are many that are so nitpicky

about reps that they will even find an endless list of flaws if you post a pic of gen....smile.png

+1

Thanks for this. I am an entire newbie and my first instinct has always been that you get what you pay for. That's why, up tip now, I have restricted myself to buying older genuines which, to be fair, you can't have high expectations of anyway, if you are wise. I guess they great thing about this forum is that you can get to learn what works well enough and what to definitely avoid as a turkey, whatever it looks like.

Good information. Last three pieces arrived with problems. 2 were m2m and one from TD. No complaining just part of this crazy hobby. Out of the 9 watches I have bought in the last 4 months 5 of them needed something fixed. Why it is good to create a relationship with a good watch smith. Someday I will fix them myself but not ready for that yet. Couple of those were pretty spendy modded pieces. Sellers offered to fix but I know my guy so rather just send to him.
