WatchDog21 3,345 Posted January 6, 2017 Looks like you escaped the cold. Nice 5! Fortunately I did not get caught up in the whole situation of the Border Patrols down computer system and flight cancellations. Made it home the day before to a sunny 82°. The SNZJ65 was a sweet deal I found on ebay.

Foxindebox 462 Posted January 6, 2017 1964 handwind goldfeather Lovely Mate I love a vintage Seiko dress watch. I've just finished servicing and restoring my fourth King Seiko (two 28000 and two 36000bph). I've even got another on the way!!! Here are a couple

black263 228 Posted January 8, 2017 Beautiful watch but I read that it can't be hand wound. I would find it a real pain if it kept stopping because I wasn't active enough. How do you find the PR in practice.

GenTLe 1,501 Posted January 8, 2017 Beautiful watch but I read that it can't be hand wound. I would find it a real pain if it kept stopping because I wasn't active enough. How do you find the PR in practice. It has inside the 7S36 movement, which is for any practical use the same of the 7S26 contained into the common SKX007 and SKX009: The only difference between the 2 of them should be these 2 caps jewels (hence the 7S26, 1st picture, is 21j, while the 7S36, 2nd picture, is 23j): I can tell you that with their autocharge system (the famous "magic levers") you don't really need to handwind it, neither do much movements to autocharge it. But anyway, if you're a fanatic like I am, you can just swap the movement for a 4R36 (like I did for my SKX009), which is also handwind and has the hacking feature. I can confirm it is a direct swap and the only things you need are the 4R36 movement and a new crown with an appropriate screwable stem (as the original stem is kind of press-fit into the crown and the stem of the hacking movement is different). I bought mine here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201772814939 but this is for the SKX009.

How do you find the PR in practice. Most of the time I will put my auto's on the winder the night before I wear them. This one missed the winder so it took approx an hour before it was "accurate", prob lost about 20 mins in that first hour. After that it keeps good time. I had this on the wrist for about 14 hrs and based on the time/day it had stopped I estimate the power reserve at about 36 hrs. Picked this one up on eBay for about $75 so I have no complaints. WatchDog21 3,345 Posted January 10, 2017 I sent my SRP603 off to Motor City Watch Works and had it Cerakote finished. Case is a sniper grey and bezel is black with red markings. My current pictures don't do it justice but will have to do for now. Before: After:
