Boy this is good  One of the best sales threads in a while!

That guy is totally nuts - but worst of all he is selling this junk to get more GUNS. Only in Amerik'uh.

In order to technically have a market there must be buyers and sellers. He lacks buyers at those price levels therefore the market does not exist.

+1

Unless he's putting his money on some kind of previously unseen price elasticity to take effect...

If nothing else good happens about this, at least the OP will get "schooled" as to what a 10 year old 21j replica is actually worth!!... :giggle: :giggle:

No wonder I don't visit anywhere else when cunts like this are allowed to sell crap at ridiculous prices. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let him post it here and get him a new arsehole ripped.

This is exactly how noobs get ripped off and it is wrong. I think it's immoral to even allow postings for sale on a "specialist" forum for massively over-inflated prices.

Well, to be fair, there were a lot of posts on there that should put ANY noob on alert. I am all for protecting the membership - but from opportunists, not from their own foolishness. And it seems it worked, no one has made this guy an offer than even tempts him, so much so that he has told people to stop pm'ing him offers. It's $500 or nothinng. In other words, this guy isn't going to get his new gun anytime soon.

I think it is interesting how people build up in their mind how objects have certain values - cars, homes, whatever, and then, when they are told otherwise, continue to live in denial. I know a family that tried to sell their house in Marbella for 15 million Euros, when the market for similar plot sizes and houses on the Golden Mile were going for 10. But they had decided how much they wanted (so it would work out to round figures for the brothers who had inhereted the house), and they wouldn't budge. I am sure the realtor was thrilled. Well, there it sat, for two years, and then the market crashed. Now they would be lucky to get 6 or 7 million for it. Fucking idiots.

Just a little anecdote there.

Exactly John. Believe me mate, if that had been posted and the only responses were of the "OMG OMG! Amazing! Someone had better buy this before I can sell my xxxxx to pay for it!" type I would have been the first to post to the contrary. As it was it was talked about betwixt the sales mods and allowed to go ahead with a very close eye being kept.

The sale was NOT "protected", that's bullshit and I take offense on behalf of the RWI sales mods. If it were being protected a leaf would have been taken from another forum's book and all those posts would have been removed. Instead it was allowed to continue until sufficient opinions from members were posted to the effect that it was waaay over priced that anyone willing to pay the asking price would have to be either blind or incredibly stupid. At that point folk were asked to leave it be before it devolved into personal attacks and the inevitable shit fight.

As it is, the only reason it was allowed was the fact it is a no longer available rep that is (apparently) highly regarded even now in NOS condition. If something is rare it may be argued that it is worth more than the sum of it's parts to some people, ie: it has value as a collectors item the same way a rare coin, stamp or vehicle does. If it had been a watch that was still available it would have been removed immediately.

I must admit that I have only bought m2m stuff here and on RWI. While prices seem to be better here, there are still a few good bargains to be had on RWI plus a lot less watches that look like they have been kicked up and down the street sold as 'vintage' that appear ahem elsewhere....

Maybe....100 yrs from now, one of Eddie Lee's grandchildren might be interested in this as an "artifact" of Eddies youth...But till then, It''ll remain a $100.00 21j replica... :giggle:

Oh shit, the RWI mods are reading this thread. I guess I am in trouble now.

Don't worry, i already got in trouble over there by saying 'It looks like the market has already dictated the price' when people were slamming the dude for the price of the watch when it was $1200.

The guy has dropped the price to $650 for everything and is wondering why nobody has bought the watch yet.

Wow. Went from $1,200 to $650. I say it goes around $500 all in for watch and box, or watch only $250-300 range.
