Here I go again. I will post pics once I receive them. The Sinn jumped up quickly in my "ooh, gotta have one" list.

Some generic pics as watchporn stand-ins til they arrive.

Cheers to all! And if anyone is looking to part with an LV sub, let me know! :archaeology:

I have the U1 on the way as well. Did you go for the Swiss movement? Going to send mine to be serviced straight away, BP Fac tend to be a little iffy on their movements

I did go for the Swiss movement. Curious as to who you will send it to and what they are charging?

I use a guy called Adrian, he's on RWI I think he's ado321 or ado123 something like that. I send most of my watches to him to just get them looked over, waterproofed, relumed, whatever needs doing I don't even open the cb I just trust his judgement. Only bummer is he doesn't do AR...but on the u1 that's probably the last thing we will need! Apparently the bp sinn is the best ar on any rep....we will soon see huh?!

Thanks Jack!

Naturally, pics will be posted in the TD review section once they arrive.

It's funny. But the feeling of watches on their way is almost the same as the one I had when I was heading over to a girl's place knowing I was about to get laid.

Or maybe it's just me.

And then you get married.

Lol

Watches received last week and generally happy except for two things:

1 The lume on the Sinn hour hand is missing i.e. someone forgot to actually put any significant amount of lume on it! Also, the minute hand has a very scattered, light layer of lume.

2 The YM clasp is difficult to lock into place; it tends to want to pop open and won't hold securely.

Ugh. Sucks about the lume

Yeah. I can work around the lume and the YM clasp, just a bit disappointed. BUT these are reps, after all.

Overall they are solid feeling with very nice and smooth movements. I'm mostly happy and can live with the faults easily. Not sure if I should bring it up with Joshua as its not his fault.

nice Sinn. Too bad about the missing lume but others quite the looker. Would you mind sharing which TD you bought it from?

The thing I don't like about the Sinn is the markers being a different colour to the hands. The lume application sucks big time, makes the dial markers look green in all lights compared to the hands. My bezel doesn't align amazingly either. Not sure whether to get the lume reapplied or try the thankless task of picking up a gen dial

HELP!

Bad news. The SInn with Swiss movement decided to stop working. Seconds hand simply won't sweep, its just stuck at around 6 second mark. It winds fine (I can hear and feel it functioning), hour/minute hands and date window adjust as advertised, but it won't hold time because I just can't get the secondhand to sweep.

And to add insult to injury, My Omega Moonie with ST-19 won't hold a wind on the spring. When I release my fingers after winding, it spins back the "charged" spring load. Opened the back and found a small bit which looks like part of the click spring is broken off.

Can anyone point me towards a CONUS watchsmith, please?

Katt on the td list?

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually previously reached out to him about the Moonie. Unfortunately, he doesn't do chronos.

I was hoping to find someone that can do both in one delivery. If I can't find a smith who can, I will email Katt about the Sinn. Good call.

Sorry to hear, specially as You´ve got the alleged swiss in the U1. The lume fault happened in the factory but imo the TD´s qc should not miss something that obvious either - specially on the more expensive swiss one.

Get it serviced and relumed and try out some other, smaller TD´s in the future, 4me it worked much better since. Good luck

I went on this advice and got the Asian 21j movement. only problem is that now the seconds hand is too heavy and stutters like crazy.

Have had to send it back to the td. Pretty annoying, will update when I get it back.

Cheers BB

for the Sinn U1, avoid the "swiss eta", get it with asian eta 2836 movement, then source a brand new swiss eta 2836 movement to change the movement, you can sell the asian eta or hold it as reserve. this is my best advice for u about this watch.
