Lars_St 0 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) What's up guys, So ... I want to buy another gen. Problem is.. i have no idea what to get. Recently bought my Victorinox XLS from Del which I absolutely love, and it makes me want more gens Love the new Victorinox INOX line, but at a price of 425EUR (540USD) here in the Netherlands .. thats just a bit out of my reach :( So let's say I got 250-300EUR max... what would you guys get for that price? Preferred size is between 43mm and 45mm I'm well aware of Seiko, Citizen and Fossil etc .. but those brands don't really have my interest.. All input and advice welcome!! Thanks for reading guys! Leigh 0 Posted September 26, 2014 Have you looked at these. Seem to be really good build quality http://www.borealiswatch.com/store/#!/Diver-Watches/c/6645472/offset=0&sort=normal
Lars_St 0 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks Leigh, will have a look EDIT : Looks like all Rolex homages, build quality looks solid tho. Edited September 26, 2014 by Lars_St
Jooost 0 Posted September 26, 2014 I love my Ingersoll Grand Canyon 4. Some say it is not worth the price if you purely look at the movement, but I do love the design! But for a lower price, the SeaGull M172s is also a good option!
Fletchett 0 Posted September 26, 2014 Have a look at these: http://gerlach.org.pl/list_of_gerlach_watches.html Not swiss made, but excellent time pieces for reasonable money.
Lars_St 0 Posted September 26, 2014 I remember Gerlach from last years Bday Bash :P Some nice pieces there indeed

GoW13 19 Posted September 26, 2014 If you stock your budget up a bit, you could get a Steinhart: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/de/OCEAN-1-VINTAGE-red-incl-Natoband,191.html Really good quality for the price! Invicta has some really nice pieces in that price range as well

Jorge-(WhoreHay) 261 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) I'd suggest you save a few more euros and go for a Steinhart... They start at around 350 and go to about 1,000 euros http://www.steinhartwatches.de/ Edited September 26, 2014 by Jorge-(WhoreHay)
GenTLe 1,501 Posted September 26, 2014 Have a look at these: http://gerlach.org.pl/list_of_gerlach_watches.html Not swiss made, but excellent time pieces for reasonable money. I agree. Plus give a look to Orient (jap mechanical watches). Finally check the web site creationwatches where often there are interesting offers.

Lars_St 0 Posted September 26, 2014 I almost ordered a Steinhart Ocean One a while back, but something about them puts me off .. maybe the fact that its yet another submariner homage.. Tho, I've read a lot of good reviews about them.
dhistory 0 Posted September 28, 2014 Seems like many of these specialty brands are homages of some sort. I have a neat gen Tag, Omega, victorinox set, but recently checking out Seiko divers (blue/red on jubilee) due to cool look and affordability. Good look
Daywatch 4 Posted September 28, 2014 This Chrono is great and much cheaper in the US but very recently became more accessible in the EU as well - there is a thread about it here on rwg: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00E86JJKY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1JQPL3YJ7E5SM&coliid=I28C501C3TMOW2
greg_r 81 Posted September 28, 2014 Rotary make some nice stuff at sensible prices - although there's also some junk in the range too. Most of the autos are pretty decent, however.. This cost me less than $
stefan202 0 Posted September 29, 2014 Tissot's are nice, but you have to watch for the lower quality one's. I think they're playing the Invicta game, if you know what I mean. I'm a HUGE fan of Victorinox watches, owning an 45mm XLS Chrono myself. That said, I find Gen Vicky's on Amazon of all places for well within your price range, if you're interested in more Vicky's. Otherwise, I tried on the new Movado Series 800 Chronograph - Black Dial and was really impressed by the fit, finish, weight, and style. Online, it doesn't look necessarily impressive, but on my wrist it was a thing of beauty. At 42mm, it's just below what you're looking for, but I tell you it feels GREAT. Price wise, it retails for $995, but I found one that's been worn twice and is listed on the 'Bay for $440, which is just outside of what you want to spend. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-AuthenticSports-Style-Movado-Series-800-Chronograph-Stainless-Watch-/151417517771 That said, for that price you could also buy a super rep of the new J12 Rolex Yachtmaster with swiss movement.
