First time bezel insert fading

Recommended Posts

Moondustesp

Gave it a go with a JK factory bezel insert. Bezel was in bleach for a total of 10 minutes with me checking every couple of minutes. I made the mistake of accidentally touching the insert :( but maybe it adds to the character and makes it more interesting. I am pretty happy with how it turned out but this insert was always going to be a "test" for me. Next one I do definitely won't be in as long but I kinda like the blue ghost effect this one has. That will even up easily with a cape cod. Most of that white stuff is residue.

Nice. Just a couple of tips. Use gloves to overdo fingerprints. You can see traces of them from where the oil was. Also use a high grit, like 2000 or 2500 to smooth everything and even out. Then go over with a cape code. Looks good though :)

I made the mistake of accidentally touching the insert :(

One of the personal experience on these is that you should properly degrease it before the fading procedure, and only touch it with clean stuff until you wash it.
