NCRich 13,747 Posted May 29, 2017 As PBR said, how do you know these parts are gen????? Trusting souls.
Moondustesp 136 Posted May 29, 2017 All I have done is take my time and not over pay for parts and do my research that is all you can do.
NCRich 13,747 Posted May 29, 2017 That's some kool-aid I can't drink. I've got some watches with "gen" parts on them, but I wouldn't pay a dime more for them. Having worked with several I am not impressed. The plexis look the same as Clarks, the crowns have more defects than rep ones because they are take offs, etc. YMMV Now with Omegas you can be more sure, because you can buy the parts. I'm especially amused by a Rolex that has everything OEM (including the case) but a cheap movement.... that's just... <no words>. In the end they are all just fake watches. I completely agree. With my sensible head it is a waste of time and money. I think I enjoy the process of researching and finding parts more than the end product. I think it is important not to get carried away and set a sensible budget. I am sure the stone P build will be stunning but it is a whole lot of money. This is a great hobby and I really do enjoy the franken builds.

Gen plexi on this, DW dial, small hands, Athaya crown, on there when I got it. Serious mutt watch.
