sherbert79 8 Posted April 28, 2017 Morning All First time this has happened to me, decided to try a new trusted dealer and bought an A7750 Daytona, watch arrived yesterday but when I wind it or give it a gentle shake its flat out dead! I've been in touch with dealer who has given me two options, either to get it repaired myself or send it back, question I have is........what's the best postal method? And do the post office ask what I'm sending? If so what do I say?? Gutted this has happened as I really like the watch! Thanks Sherbs
BadPickle 2,746 Posted April 28, 2017 Send it back, ask your dealer for advice on which postal service to use.
Del 4,451 Posted April 28, 2017 For this watch with that movement, I agree with Pickle - send it back. Follow your TD's posting advice to the letter.
sherbert79 8 Posted April 28, 2017 Thanks guys, will they ask about my parcel in the post office?
Del 4,451 Posted April 28, 2017 Almost certainly but you will need to tell them the same as whatever you've written on the customs declaration - which the TD should advise you about, e.g. "timing instrument for repair" or "toy watch".
markeym3 2 Posted April 28, 2017 Thanks guys, will they ask about my parcel in the post office? For me they just ask what it is and if it has a battery... just say a watch as guided by the TD...
elp 26 Posted April 28, 2017 Thanks guys, will they ask about my parcel in the post office? You will need to fill out a form with contents and value, follow the TD's instructions to the letter. Will typically be something like "watch parts" or "watch for repair" or similar. If you're worried about the fact it's a rep, nobody will care :)
sherbert79 8 Posted May 19, 2017 So I quick update as I'm starting to panic a little, I sent the watch back to the TD just under 3 weeks ago and described it as a requested and put value of 20 USD, TD hasn't received it yet, what's my next step if it never arrives back to the TD? Have I just lost £140???

sherbert79 8 Posted May 19, 2017 No, the TD told me to put the value as 20USD so when I asked about tracking the post office told me that the tracking option would cost more than the actual value of the goods so I thought it would look a bit suspect! SuperbMonster 4 Posted May 19, 2017 I've recently started my first return. TD insisted on a tracked service. Without tracking who knows where it is. Mine has been stuck in Beijing for some time now but I gather this process is slow and much patience is needed.
GenTLe 1,501 Posted May 19, 2017 No tracking? That's a dumb move. I am sure the TD told you to use tracking...

Chinese customs are slow and so is the postal service so I'm not worried in the slightest.

Ok cheers, it's possible then that my parcel is also stuck there but I just can't confirm that without tracking! Just need to wait it out I guess
