7750 secs @12 won't start running

Recommended Posts

Pure B

Hi guys,

First of all I am a total noob to watch repairs. I've oiled the rotor once and that's as far as my experience goes. And as a 22 year old student I don't have the funds to send it to Joran or Domi at the moment.

The problem is that my AP ROO secs@12 won't start running sometimes. As an example: When I set the time to 1:20PM, then give it a manual wind or 10 and push the crown in, it won't start running. Not a 1:23 , 1:35, 2:45 but at 3:22 it starts running.

When the watch is worn daily and it keeps wounded, it runs with no problems.

What could this be?

Search "7750 problems" in the search box.

Especially seconds @ 12

You'll get more than an eye full of responses.

Hope you haven't eaten breakfast yet.

Are the hands hitting something?

No money is OK. Start learning to fix them yourself and you can have more fun.

Save up for some tools.

No the hands can move freely. Also when I engage the chronograph when the running seconds hand wont start running the large second hand sets from 0 to 59, so 1 tick backwards and then stops.

if the watch runs on your wrist all day, but won't start after 10 or more windings, it can be that the mainspring is broken. the rotor will keep the part of the spring that is still working wound up, but if you wind past that point it will unwind again. I don't say that is the problem, but it might be.

If you read the thread it's written: Domi is the best. He's in Germany.

Sounds to me like the problem with added gears for sec@12 without any juvels, so it is "grinding" metal against metal, and the "engine" is not strong enough to turn the gears ?

I had that with a daytona sec@6.

Possibly the Oscillating pinion is disengaged.
