$875 later- Omega Aqua Terra GMT Bracelet

Recommended Posts

plankton

Soooo I looked like hell and actually couldn't find the correct bracelet for my new Omega GMT on my usual sites. Found a few genuine Omega bracelets but the prices where up in the $675-$890 range and there was no guarantee they would fit. Most where actually more than what I ended up paying at the AD.

To make a long story short I stopped by the AD today to see if they could give me the bracelet number or my GMT case number and ended up picking up the bracelet (they installed). It is a nice bracelet, for sure.

So now I have a convertable. It will go from this:

to this depending on my use for that day:

I did find out during this fucking expensive process I certainly do prefer the bracelet. Lucky I was able to get the watch for less using the guy in Japan so with the bracelet expense I'm back up to an eBay spend (almost) for the watch.

I love the leather on this one though. I'm a sucker for modern chronos with case hugging leather straps

I love the look of it as well but it just didn't feel right for some reason, the watch kept drifting. Now I'm not used to leather either.

I thought about trying a rep bracelet to see if it would fit but I cannot find this watch in a rep, hence the AD purchase.

There's something about the bracelet that I like better than the strap, not sure why. Probably just me but I think it gives the overall appearance of the watch a more profound larger look.

Both look great. But that watch would look good on string!!!

Thanks, Kcore hit it on the nose-- options. I have a tendency to get bored quickly so this expenditure will prevent that with luck.

You know typically even with a gen when we go to sell them the same percentage loss applies. Gets expensive so I need to do my best to enjoy this SOB.

Wouldn't that be a hell of a find. No just the bracelet, which I was happy to do but still the gens are such a marketing scam when it comes to the prices.

You took a rep into an AD and had them install a gen bracelet?

Not a rep, not at all. I dont think they make a rep of this specific watch.

Looks fantastic on the bracelet

Thanks James, I agree. Just couldnt do the strap for some reason.

To be fair I thought it was a rep too. Unless stated otherwise I guess we just assume anything here is a rep.
