Seiko 6117 World Time

Recommended Posts

Foxindebox

Hi gang,

I wanted to share my newest acquisition.

It's a Seiko 6117 world time. The "GMT" hand is actually a 24hr hand and the internal bezel with city names rotates from the Crown.

I am absolutely besotted with it and intend to give it a full service (pics to follow).

In the meantime, here is a wristie

That is an absolute beauty mate, love the design.

Looks really nice on that strap too.

What are the details regarding age etc?

Looks like an addition to the hit list.

Enjoy it in the finest of health.

Thanks very much!

This particular example is from 1972 I believe. It came without the original bracelet, hence the Watchgecko strap (which was only a tenner...). They have become increasingly collectable and are hard to find in this condition, for what I paid anyway (around £175).

Once I have it serviced, it's going to get a lot of wrist time for sure.

Thanks for the info mate, I am going to keep my eyes peeled.

Funnily enough I picked up two WG straps this week for the recently acquired PAM. Great quality for the price.

Yeah, they are great VFM. I bought a few of these in different sizes and a couple of NATO's.

Good luck with your hunt! They are rare beasts indeed...

Nice catch bud. I've dithered over a few of these. Is the 24 hr hand independent?
